Ronald “Ron” Pratt, age 78, of New Market, passed away peacefully and woke up to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

He retired from ASARCO Zinc Mines. He was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, David Lee Pratt; parents, Walter and Hattie Pratt; parents-in-law, Paul and Susan West.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Betty West Pratt; special cousin whom he loved and cherished, Susan Pratt Chambers and her husband, Chris Chambers; and a number of cousins and several friends. Pallbearer honors will be provided by Noah Pratt, Jason Chambers, Chris Chambers, Larry Stropp, Marty McGaha, and James West.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.

Funeral service 12:00 pm Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Fielden Chapel with Rev. Lance Pratt and Rev. Colt Howard officiating. Interment to immediately follow in Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 – 12:00 pm prior to the service at Fielden Funeral Home in New Market.
