The Lakeway Lions defended their District 1 Tournament crown on Saturday with a 44-41 win over Grace Christian on Saturday.

After a rocky start to the season, the Lions found their stride in district play and have rattled off 14 straight wins and sit at 20-9 in year one under Aaron Jones.

Owen McGoldrick paced the Lions with 16 points, and Ivan Moskalenko also added double-digits with 12.

Leading the Rams was Segond Sompa and John Martin with nine apiece.

Lakeway took a 13-12 edge after one before falling behind 27-24 at the intermission. The Rams led 36-34 entering the fourth before the Lions shut them down, allowing just five points in the final period to take the win.

Lakeway Christian will look to continue rolling with a region matchup on Tuesday where it hosts Collegedale.
