Reports of shots fired at a Greeneville Hotel resulted in no suspects or victims being found.

According to a release from the Greeneville Police Department, around 3:39 a.m. Friday, officers were called to the Greeneville Inn and Suites in the 1700 block of East Andrew Johnson Highway where there was a report of gunshots.

Upon arrival, officers found evidence of gunshots taking place; however, there were no victims or suspects to be located.

The investigation is ongoing by GPD detectives. GPD does not believe there is a significant risk to the public at this time.

As a result, Greeneville City Schools were on a modified lockdown out of an abundance of caution.
