THP seeking info on Parrottsville hit-and-run

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that occurred on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at approximately 7:45 pm near the 1900 block of U.S. Highway 321 in Parrottsville, Cocke County.

Preliminary information indicates that a 2011-2013 Ford Fiesta, unknown color, was involved in an injury crash with a bicyclist before leaving the scene without stopping to render aid or provide required information. According to a THP Preliminary Report, the bicyclist was identified at Trishtian Knight, 19, of South Carolina.

The suspect vehicle was traveling south on US Highway 321 near the 1900 block, in the outside (right) lane. Knight was traveling south on U.S. 321 on the paved right shoulder. For unknown reasons, the suspect vehicle drove from the outside travel lane, crossed the fog line into the right shoulder, and struck the bicyclist in the rear. The bicyclist did have front and rear reflectors fixed to the bicycle. Additionally, the bicyclist did have a front and rear head lamp fixed to the bicycle.

The unknown driver and vehicle both left the scene immediately after the crash occurred.

Knight came to an uncontrolled rest in the travel lane. The bicyclist did sustain injury, and he was transported and is being treated at a local hospital.

Using debris left on scene the suspect vehicle is suspected to be a 2011-2013 Ford Fiesta, unknown color. The damage sustained on the suspect vehicle is located in the front-right head light assembly as well as the front-right fog lamp assembly. Damage may be distributed through the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was last seen traveling south on US 321 towards Newport.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, has dash camera or security camera footage, or may have seen a vehicle matching this description in the area around the time of the incident to contact the lead investigator, Trooper Nathan Pearson, at 865-895-6950, or *THP (*847). Information provided by the public could play a critical role in helping the THP identify the driver responsible and ensuring accountability.
