Barbara Nadine Hopkins, age 69, of Whitesburg, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport.

She was a member of Free Spirit Missionary Baptist Church. Barbara was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a very loving person with a heart of gold, and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Bell; mother, Della Sweet Patterson; step-father, Den Patterson; sons, Jonathan Monroe Young, and Benjamin Jesse Young; sister, Sue Organ.

She is survived by her loving husband, Roger Steve Hopkins; son Joseph “Joey” Young and wife, Christina; grandchildren, Emily Young, Ramsey Young, Mason Young, Emma Owens, and Brody Young; great-grandchildren, Rozlynn and Blaine; sisters, Shelby and Elmo Smallwood, and Lura and Eric Oppertshauser; brother, Taylor and Sharon Bell; brother-in-law, Jerry Organ; along with several nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends; very special friend, Dwight Campbell.

The family will receive friends, Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 5-6 p.m. in the chapel of Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Bradley officiating.
