Parrott-Wood Memorial Library, located at 3133 West Old Andrew Johnson Highway in Strawberry Plains, is partnering with Family & Consumer Sciences UT Extension Institute of Agriculture to host a free eight-week “Stay Strong, Stay Healthy Program” on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
The program will begin April 13 and will last until June 4.
“Stay, Strong, Stay Healthy” is an eight-week strength training program designed to slowly build strength and mobility beneficial for health. A trained instructor will lead the class through a series of strength training exercises that progress in difficulty over time.
• The program includes the use of ankle and hand weights, which are provided while in class. You are encouraged to purchase weights for use at home, if desired.
• A voluntary fitness assessment is conducted prior to the first class and at the end of the program, so you can gauge your improvement.
• Voluntary pre and post course surveys will be offered. These are an important part of continuous evaluation to improve the program and meet your needs.
• Please be sure your attendance is recorded each class.
• Call or email if you will be absent—or make note on the attendance sheet if you know in advance.
