Operation Spring Cleaning DUI Enforcement to be held March 20 in White Pine
The White Pine Police Department, in partnership with other law enforcement agencies, will conduct a multi-agency DUI checkpoint operation on Friday, March 20 from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Enforcement locations will include U.S. Highway 25E at State Street; State Route 66 at Roy Messer Highway; and U.S. Highway 11E at West Andrew Johnson Highway.
This operation is funded in part by a grant from the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) and is part of continued commitment to aggressively address impaired driving in Jefferson and Hamblen counties.
The agencies involved are using these checkpoints to help drivers take notice. Those who choose to drive under the influence will be stopped. Those who are impaired will be arrested and prosecuted.
Impaired driving is not an accident — it is a decision. Officers will not tolerate behavior that endangers citizens, families, and visitors. Officers will be highly visible and proactive throughout the evening.
The objective is deterrence, enforcement, and saving lives.
Be sure to plan ahead, drive sober or don’t drive at all.
