It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of (Glenda) Darlene Jones, born November 2, 1945, of Bean Station, Tennessee. Darlene passed away surrounded by family on March 11, 2026.

Darlene loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Mammaw.” A lover of nature, Darlene enjoyed working in her garden and watching birds. She was a member Barnard’s Grove Baptist Church in Bean Station, Tennessee, and was beloved by the community. Darlene will be greatly missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Minnie Elizabeth Staley; her parents, Audrey and Chilous Brantley; her brother, Chilous Brantley Jr.; her husband, George H. Jones, and her son, Rodney A. Jones.

Darlene is survived by her son, Dan (Lynn) Jones; their children, Luke (Lucy) Jones and Reece (Torie) Jones; her daughter, Elizabeth Jones Ankrom, (Mickey Ankrom); and their children, Kasey Ankrom Wasson (Rand Wasson), and Kristen Ankrom McCubbins (Tyler McCubbins); and special friend, Johnny Cope.

A graveside service will be on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 1 pm at Helton Cemetery in Bean Station with Rev. Travis Proffitt officiating.

Serving as pallbearers are Luke Jones, Reece Jones, Tyler McCubbins, Rand Wasson, Dan Jones, and Mickey Ankrom.
