Tennessee College of Applied Technology Morristown (TCAT Morristown) is expanding its allied healthcare program offerings with two additional programs aimed at preparing students for high-demand, high-impact careers in the medical field.
Beginning May 4, TCAT Morristown will launch a Patient Care Technology/Medical Assisting program, with applications now open. The two-trimester program is designed to fast-track students into the workforce while providing multiple industry-recognized certifications embedded throughout the curriculum (such as nursing assistant, phlebotomy & electrocardiogram).
“This program is an exciting addition for our campus and community,” said Susanne Cox, president of TCAT Morristown. “Healthcare employers need skilled professionals who are ready to contribute from day one. This program is efficient, hands-on, and aligned with real workforce needs.”
Students will receive training in both clinical and administrative skills, preparing them for roles in hospitals, physician offices, and other healthcare settings. The accelerated format allows graduates to enter the workforce quickly with credentials that support career advancement opportunities.
The college is also expanding access to nursing education with an additional Practical Nursing program that is designed for working adults. The evening program will be offered four nights per week, Monday through Thursday and can be completed within 18 months.
“This evening option opens doors for individuals who may not have been able to pursue nursing training due to work or family responsibilities,” Cox said. “We are committed to removing barriers and creating opportunities for our community.” These program offerings reflect TCAT Morristown’s continued focus on workforce development and student success. The college reports an 81% completion rate, a 91% job placement rate and a 96% licensure pass rate.
With local healthcare providers reporting strong demand for trained professionals, college officials say the programs represent a timely investment in the region’s workforce.
Prospective students are encouraged to apply early, as classes are expected to fill quickly. For more information or to apply, visit the college’s website at www.tcatmorristown.edu, email: tmor_nursing@tcatmorristown.edu, or call directly at (865) 770-5267.
