A two-vehicle crash in Claiborne County Tuesday morning left one of the drivers injured.

According to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, around 6:32 a.m., a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Dillon Beeler, 35, of Tennessee, was traveling north on State Route 33 just past Lone Mountain Road. A 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by Charles Long, 63, of Virginia, was traveling southbound on State Route 33 approaching Lone Mountain Road.

Beeler’s Malibu had exited a curve in the roadway near Lone Mountain Road when Long’s Silverado crossed the center line and entered the southbound travel lane. The Malibu then struck the Silverado head-on. As a result of the crash, both vehicles came to an uncontrolled rest in the northbound travel lane. At the time of the crash, Long’s pickup truck was towing a Renegade 20 Javelin boat on a trailer. Due to the impact, the boat became dislodged from the trailer and came to an uncontrolled rest across both the northbound and southbound travel lanes. Beeler, who was not wearing a seat belt, was injured in the crash and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Long was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Charges are pending in the ongoing investigation
