Oh What a Night!: Friends of Hospice hosts Casino Night

Friends of Hospice of the Lakeway Area is thrilled to share the success of its annual “Casino Night” fundraiser, held this past Saturday at Morristown Landing.

The evening delivered an unforgettable experience, as guests stepped back in time and fully embraced a glamorous “Roaring 20’s Speakeasy” theme.

True to the spirit of the era, attendees arrived dressed in stunning 1920s-inspired attire—flapper dresses, feathered headpieces, sharp pinstripe suits, and fedoras—transforming the venue into a lively, vintage speakeasy filled with energy and elegance.

The night featured an exciting mix of classic casino games, lively music, exceptional food, and a wide variety of sought-after prizes. Guests tried their luck at blackjack, poker, and roulette tables, all while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere and camaraderie that made the event truly special.

“The attention to the theme and the enthusiasm from our guests made this year’s Casino Night one to remember,” said Friends of Hospice/Serenity House Executive Director Cheryl Fehl. “It was incredible to see everyone go all in—not just with the games, but with the spirit of the evening—while supporting Serenity House in such a generous way!”

Proceeds from the event directly benefit Serenity House, a non-medical, home-like end-of-life care residence serving hospice patients who are unable to remain in their own homes. Funds raised help support daily operations, including meals, utilities, and essential equipment, ensuring compassionate care remains available to individuals and families across the Lakeway Area.

Friends of Hospice extends sincere gratitude to FILMTech and the Welch Family along with all the sponsors, donors, volunteers, and attendees whose support made the evening a resounding success. Their generosity helps sustain the mission of providing dignity, comfort, and peace during life’s most meaningful moments.
