West Greene 9, Morristown East 8

West Ridge 1, Morristown East 0

After allowing five runs in the first inning, the ‘Canes rallied for five runs in the final four innings to take an 8-7 lead into the bottom of the seventh thanks to a go-ahead single from Landon Bures. However, West Greene loaded the bases to open the frame and sent two home with a walk-off single. Bures had a three-hit outing, with Parker Setsor, Connor Southerd and Bryson Walker collecting two hits. On Saturday, the ‘Canes had just one hit in a 1-0 loss to West Ridge.

Union County 4, Cherokee 3

Cherokee pitching limited Union County to only two hits on the day but four costly errors by the Chiefs allowed the Patriots to prevail 4-3. Eli Boyd blasted off to left field for a two-run shot in the fourth inning and Jayden Weston’s single to left brought Kaden Gates around to score in the fifth but that as close as the Chiefs could get.

Volunteer 5, Claiborne 0

Jesse Francis had a good day for the Bulldogs at the plate, going 2-for-3, but that was about it for Claiborne as they dropped a 5-0 decision to Volunteer. The Bulldogs had a hard time containing Jameson Mowell as he homered and had two RBI’s.

Claiborne 21, Cordia (Ky.) 1

Brayden Grim made sure the trip down from the Bluegrass State on Saturday was one to forget for the Lions as he had a two-run triple and an inside the park home run that scored two runs as the Bulldogs blasted Cordia 21-1 in three innings. Fourteen of the runs came in the first inning. Grim had four RBIs as did Parker Harrell. Asa Short and Sam Wilson also had homers for the Bulldogs.

Concord Christian 4, Washburn 3

Concord Christian 14, Washburn 3

The Pirates lost their first game against Concord Christian on a two-run walk-off single and that dampened the mood for the second game as Washburn dropped a pair of contests on Saturday.

Bryson Clay had a double in the first contest and the Pirates were limited to only four hits in game two.
