Morristown West boys finish second in Volunteer Track Classic at UT

Out of 57 teams, the Morristown West boys’ track team finished second at the Volunteer Track Classic at the University of Tennessee.

West was second to only Brentwood High School, who had 53 points to West’s 52 to take first place.

The Trojans saw just one first-place finisher in Matthew Victory, who won the high jump with a distance of 23 feet, 8.75 inches, but West still saw plenty of athletes near the top of the leaderboards to fuel the second-place team finish.

Jayden Howard placed second in the 110 and 300-meter hurdles with times of 14.39 and 38.21, respectively. The Trojans were also second in the 4×400 relay with a 3:33.09 finish. Ladarion Rabion was fourth in the triple jump at 44 feet, 4.75 inches. Victory was also fifth uin the 100-meter dash at 10.79 seconds.

The girls were 36th out of 50 schools, having a top-five finish in the 800-meter sprint relay.

Jefferson County finished 25th on the boys’ side and 27th on the girls’ side. Lakeway Christian also competed at the event, finishing 47th in the boys and 27th on the girls’ side.
