2 men arrested after striking police car, leading officers on I-240 chase, MPD says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two 20-year-old men were arrested after they crashed into a cop car while officers were conducting an investigation and led them on a chase on Interstate 240 in Memphis, police said.

Memphis police said it all started just after 8 p.m. Wednesday, when a driver crashed their car in an MPD patrol car with an officer inside in the area of Knight Arnold Road and Kirby Parkway.

A chase ensued, police said.

It ended on I-240 and Getwell Road, where two men got out of their car and ran off, MPD said. Both men were arrested.

The two men were detained as 20-year-olds Kevin Jackson and Keith Jackson. They both share the same birthdays, records show.

Both were charged with evading arrest, while Kevin Jackson was also charged with reckless driving and several traffic violation, police said.

MPD said no one was injured.
