Science Hill 9, Morristown West 8
Morristown West was walked off for the second straight day on Friday as its comeback bid fell just short at Science Hill. The loss marked the Trojans’ first in District 1-4A action. The ‘Toppers jumped out to a 6-2 lead after four innings, but West stormed back for six runs between the fifth and sixth innings to lead 8-6 at the top of the sixth. Science Hill responded with two to tie it in the bottom of the frame, walking it off with a Nate Swoots single in the bottom of the seventh. Nate Ramsey went 3-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs. Hayden Wild also had a pair of hits.
Carter 10, Morristown East 6
Cocke County 11, Morristown East 5
The ‘Canes led 6-1 after two innings but didn’t score the rest of the night as the Hornets outlasted them in 12 innings on Friday. East loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the first and put in runs on a walk, a fielder’s choice and two singles, including Landen Bures’ two-RBI single. Tucker Wyatt added East’s final run in the second, scoring on a groundout after he tripled. Carter put in three runs in the top of the third and tied it in the sixth by scoring on a walk and a fly out to set up extra innings. The sides remained knotted at 6-6 until Carter loaded the bases in the 12th, scoring four runs and shutting East down in the bottom to take the win.
In Saturday’s contest, the Fighting Cocks scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth to take control and the win. Wyatt had three hits for the ‘Canes, while Brody Hudson had three RBIs for Cocke County, also earning the win on the mound.

The Grizzlies played three games in the Beaver Creek Classic. First up was Indian Trail who combined with the Grizzlies to have 25 hits in the game. Brothers Garrett and Emery Keiter each hit a home run for Grainger with Jackson Trent adding a double. The Badger State foes built a 9-2 lead through the first three innings. South Doyle scored at least one run in five of the seven innings to prevail 10-4. Josh Walker went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs. The Grizzlies got back on the winning track against Union County as Braxton Davis turned in a solid pitching performance with seven hits and two strikeouts against the Patriots. Linx Moore hit a double for Grainger.
Lakeway Christian 6, Knox Catholic 1
Ricardo Madrid and Bryson Allen each left the yard as the Lions downed Knox Catholic 6-1. Jovin Willems and Diego Pinilla combined for nine strikeouts for the Lions. Chase Gockenbach connected on a pair of doubles and Pinilla also had a double for LCA.
Cocke County 15, Austin East 0
Ty Wines hit a grand slam and drove in seven runs in a 3-for-3 night at the plate to help the Fighting Cocks run-rule the Roadrunners. Oaklon Cameron also had three hits and four more had two hits.

Ledger Helton and Connor Lyons each hit doubles for the Chiefs but the Pioneers were still able to prevail in the non-conference tilt between the two squads.

Claiborne 15, Jellico 1
The Bulldogs took two of the three games they played over the weekend. Hancock County pitcher Zylar Riley limited Claiborne to only two hits in the first game as the Indians prevailed 4-1. Griffen Wallen had a double for Hancock and Parker Harrell added a two-bagger for the Dawgs. In the second game between the two squads, there were only five total hits as Nathan Jones had seven strikeouts for Claiborne and Henry Holt had six K’s for the Tribe. The lone run in the contest came in the third inning when Parker Herrell lined out to shortstop to bring in Zayden Michael. In the final game of the weekend for the Bulldogs, Sam Wilson drove in three runs as Claiborne downed Jellico 15-1 in five innings.
Washburn 5, West Greene 3
Gavin Kincaid hit a triple as the Pirates built a 5-0 lead and then held on for a 5-3 win over the Buffaloes. Kincaid and Bryson Clay each finished the contest with two runs batted in.

Morristown West 11, Carter 1
Sydney Mendes hit a three-run homer in the second inning to spark a run-rule win over Carter on Friday. The Lady Trojans added another pair of runs in the second and later scored four runs in the fifth to bring the evening to an early close. Mackenzie Lucky pitched five two-hit innings with eight strikeouts, collecting two hits and aas many RBIs at the plate. Alyssa Sizemore also finished with two hits as the bottom of West’s order produced in a big way.

The Lady Grizzlies had a busy weekend in Corryton as they played four games in the Gibbs Tournament. The event started on a high note for Grainger as they downed Grace Christian 6-4 behind two homers from Jaylee Hayes. She drove in four runs against the Lady Rams. The Lady Grizz weren’t as lucky against Camden Central as they mustered only three hits. The offense continued to struggle against Powell as once again, Grainger had only three hits in six innings. They also committed four errors in the game. Grace Christian got some revenge for Friday’s loss as they won on Saturday 5-4. Shylo Williford and Grace Lincoln each had doubles for the Lady Grizzlies with Lincoln finishing the day with a pair of RBIs.

The Lady Rams have now gone six games without tasting defeat as they had two victories and tie over the weekend. Julianne Salyer had a homer and Avery Ramey added another one in the victory over the Fillies. Ramey helped her own cause as she struck out six batters. LCA’s game against Adamsville ended in a scoreless tie. Birdie Russell had the only hit for either team and Ramey was once again strong in the circle, fanning 10 Lady Cardinal. McKinley Grubb’s three-run blast led LCA to a 6-3 victory over Jackson Southside in Saturday’s finale. She also tacked on a double against the west Tennessee squad. Ashley Blackburn had five strikeouts to gain the win.
Cocke County 12, Scott 7
Cocke County 11, West Ridge 9
The Lady Red extended their win streak to 10 games with wins over Scott and West Ridge that improved them to 15-1 on the season. In game one against Scott, Ellie Proffitt and Brookelyn Strange each drove in four runs, with Proffitt striking out 11 in the win. Cocke County jumped to an early 12-2 lead and coasted for the win.
In Saturday’s contest, the Lady Red collected 16 hits to power them to a win. All but one player had a hit, with seven collecting atleast two. Cocke County was led by Strange, who had three hits, while Proffitt drove in three runs.
Claiborne 7, Cherokee 4
Despite committing six errors, the Lady Bulldogs were able to overcome the miscues with big hits at key times in their game against Cherokee. Jacey Ferguson homered, Brinkley Hollin tripled and the Lady Dawgs got doubles from Callie Noah, Ferguson and Jaycee Hall.
