If you’ve received healthcare in East Tennessee, there’s a strong likelihood you’ve been cared for by a Walters State nurse.
More than 5,000 registered nurses have completed the program. On April 16, the college will mark the program’s 50th year with a special event for alumni.
Nursing alumni are invited to a celebration from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, in the “Z” Buda Assembly Hall and Gymnasium. The event is free. RSVPs are appreciated and may be made at https://go.ws.edu/4quASAO.
“Our alumni are doing remarkable things, bringing honor and distinction to our nursing program,” said Dr. Shelia Walker, dean of health programs and a graduate of the nursing program. “They carry the spirit of our nursing program as they serve communities across the country in many different settings. We look forward to welcoming many of them back and celebrating together.”
