Getting ready for prom
T
Next week is East High’s prom! Prom is at 8:00pm on 4/25, and students have been the utmost helpful and excited. The East High Prom is a momentous occasion for students, holding a professional and memorable event for seniors, juniors, their guests and their families. A Photographer will be present at prom: C.T. Greene Photography! From 8-11pm, pictures will be taken and can be viewed and purchased in two online galleries, which will be provided at prom. Prom tickets can be bought from Mrs. Carol Rouse at $40 per single and $60 per couple until 4/22. Students will pick up their prom tickets 4/21 in the cafeteria during lunch. Please note students will need these tickets to enter the prom, so don’t lose them!
Seniors! Voting for Prom King and Queen will take place 4/20 during STORM. If a student would like their name removed from the ballet, email Mrs. Arnold as soon as possible.
Yearbook pre orders end 4/30. The cost is currently $85 and will increase to $100 on distribution day. See Ms. Giles to purchase your 2026 yearbook!
Senior T-shirts are also available, and are sold for $20! Check your student email to purchase a Senior Signature T-shirt from Ms. Giles, featuring the Senior Class’ signatures. Orders and payments are due 4/24.
East High Talent Show auditions are 4/20 and 4/21st after school. See Ms. Wexler in Room 111 to sign up for an audition time. The Talent Show will be held during school in the auditorium on 5/13.
The Life Skills Club will be meeting on 4/20 in room 206 after school.
For Seniors! This year, Seniors graduation can decorate the top of their caps. There are specified guidelines on the form in the Library, and they are due to your STORM teacher by 5/1. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Arnold in the library. Some but not all limitations include nothing 3D or protruding, no illegal paraphernalia, and no drug or violent symbols.
If you’re a senior who hasn’t bought a cap, gown, or graduation cover, it is Urgent you do so! Graduation is 5/22, and it is highly important that you get with Mrs. Parker to rent a cap and gown, and to buy a diploma cover.
Seniors it is also important to get all your fees paid off! You cannot attend graduation or prom if you do not have your fees paid off, so please contact Mrs. Parker if you have any questions or need to pay your fees.
Congratulations to the girls tennis team for their win over Jefferson County. The Lady Canes won their match 7-0 against the Lady Patriots. The boys team fought hard against the courts, but lost 5-2. The next tennis match is at home against Cocke County 4/16.
Students only have a few weeks left before graduation and the end of the year. It’s important to get all your necessities completed and smoothed over before the end of the year. It’s been a great, nice few weeks for the beginning of spring, and perfect weather for prom and graduation. We’ve been doing an amazing job, students! It’s a Great Day to be a Hurricane!
