Eva Boudier sparks West’s 9-1 win over Union County

Eva Boudier set the tone for Morristown West, collecting hits on her first three at-bats in the leadoff spot to help the Lady Trojans tune up for District 1-4A play with a 9-1 win over Union County on Monday.
The junior has been a base-hit machine in 2026, with a team-leading 23 hits while hitting .511. Boiudier also had a pair of RBIs in the win.
Behind her, the Lady Trojans (10-5) also saw four more players with multi-hit games.
“I’ve said it all year, but when Eva leads us off, we score,” head coach Chad Parker said. “Every inning that she got up and got on base, we scored. It was kind of a catalyst for us. And Kara (Dyke) had two hits, and I believe Kaylynn (Milton) had two hits behind them. So that’s what we look to do, is get her on base, and then let the big hitters come in and get hits. Adyson Collins had two hits as well, and then I think Blayne (Parker) had two hits. So just all through the lineup, we contributed.”
“When (Eva) gets on base, you know, she usually gets second, she steals most of the time, and typically makes it there, and then that kind of forces the pitcher to pay attention to her. Usually gives Kara and Kaylynn better pitches to hit and Adyson helped clean up.”
Though not officially credited with a hit, Mackenzie Lucky forced an error that cleared loaded bases to help the Lady Trojans break the game open.
Lucky also had a stellar outing in the circle, pitching all seven innings, allowing just three hits and striking out six. The lone Union County run was unearned.
“Lucky pretty much dominated on the mound,” Parker said. “You know, I think they had one inning where they threatened us, but the score was off of an error, unfortunately. But yeah, she pitched great.”
Boudier led off the bottom of the first with a single and was later sent home by a sac fly from Milton for an early 1-0 West lead.
Lucky continued to hold it down in the circle before the bats heated up in the bottom third. Again, Boudier singled and sparked the rally. She was followed by singles from Dyke and Milton to load the bases. Lynlee McDaniel walked to drive in West’s second run, and Lucky reached on an error at third base to clear the bases for a 5-0 Lady Trojan advantage.
Lucky went three up, three down in the top of the fourth, and Blayne Parker and Sydney Mendez got on base to get back to the top of the order. Boudier doubled and sent them both home as Milton and Collins singles eventually made it 9-0 West.
The Lady Patriots scored on an error in the top of the fifth, and the final three frames saw no baserunners to preserve the West lead.
The Lady Trojans were back in action on Tuesday, opening district play against Science Hill.
“It’s tough this year in the district,” Parker said. “We’re facing probably the best pitcher that we’ve seen so far (Tuesday) night, and we’ll see how it goes. We faced her last year in regions and didn’t go well for us, so we’re looking to do a little better against her this year.”
