The T. Phillip Carlyle Foundation has announced a new initiative aimed at celebrating local graduates with a special event for the Class of 2026.
“Midnight Milestone,” a graduation celebration, is scheduled for May 22, 2026, at College Square Mall. The event is designed to provide graduating seniors with a safe, structured and memorable opportunity to gather and mark the milestone together.
While it aims to embrace its own identity, many people in the Lakeway Area have been looking for this kind of graduation night celebration for their high school seniors after Project Graduation, which is not affiliated with the current effort, didn’t reform after COVID interruptions.
“It was important to me to bring this celebration back to our community, and I’m grateful the T. Phillip Carlyle Foundation was able to step in and support making Midnight Milestone possible,” said organizer Candice Thompson.
Organizers said the event will be limited to graduates and will focus on creating an environment centered on fun, connection and recognition as students prepare for the next phase of their lives, whether that includes college, technical training, the workforce or military service.
By hosting the event at a centralized location, the foundation aims to offer both students and families added peace of mind while still delivering a meaningful send-off.
Managers at the mall said they are excited for the return for students and for the opportunity to again serve the community with a safe, wholesome outlet.
“College Square Mall is proud to once again host this special overnight celebration honoring our local graduates,” CSM Marketing Manager Leslie Cox said. “For decades, this event has been a cherished community tradition, and while we were saddened to see it pause during the pandemic, we are thrilled to see (this new effort) return with renewed energy and purpose.
“Candice Thompson’s passion and vision have brought new life to this event, creating a more inclusive and impactful celebration for today’s graduates. We are confident this year’s celebration will be the best yet, and we are honored to play a role in bringing it back to life.”
Local businesses and community partners are invited to support the initiative. Those interested in contributing can contact organizers at midnightmilestone@pcarlylefoundation.com.
Specific details regarding activities and programming have not yet been released. Registration information is expected in the coming weeks.
The T. Phillip Carlyle Foundation said the event reflects its continued commitment to supporting youth and investing in the future of the community.
