Trojans dominate Ghosts of the IMAC meet

DANDRIDGE — Former members of what was called the Inter-Mountain Athletic Conference met for a track meet in celebration of 50 years of the conference.
Morristown East, Morristown West, Jefferson County, Cherokee, Cocke County, Northview and Seymour took part in the meet.
The boys’ side was all West, who took home first with 231.5 points. The next closest team was Cherokee at 104.5 points. East finished third with 97 points, edging fourth-place Jefferson County by a point.
On the girls side, Cherokee won the day with 162 points, with West finishing second at 156. JCHS took third with 143 points and East fourth with 96.
The Trojans produced first-place finishers in 13 of the 18 events.
Matthew Victory won the 100 and 200-meter dashes with times of 11.06 and 22.41 seconds as well as the long jump (23 feet, 1.5 inches). Johnny Rivera won the 800 (2:09.56), and William Roberts took first in both the 1,500 (4:33.23) and the 3,000-meter runs (10:30.28). Jayden Howard swept the 110 (15.04) and 300-meter hurdles (40.80). Ladarion Rabion took first in the triple jump (43 feet, 9.50 inches), and Malachi Monroe threw the shot put 44 feet, 11 inches to round out the first-place finishers on the individual side. West also won the 4×100 and 4×400 meter relays along with the distance medley relay.
For third-place East on the boys’ side, the ‘Canes saw a lone first-place finish from Riley Dabbs in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.89 seconds. The ‘Canes did see a handful of second and third-place finishers. Benjamin Carrier was second in the 1,500 (4:34.16), and East finished second in both the 4×400 and 800 medley relay. Among the third-place finishers was Dabbs in the 200, Carrier in the 800, Diego Ventura in the 3,000 and Jon Ramos in the 300-meter hurdles and pole vault.
On the girls’ side, second-place West saw Abbigail Knight finish first in the 1,500 at 5:33.14. Rylee Hurst was first in the 300-meter hurdles at 50.54 seconds. Ellie Misenheimer won the high jump with four feet, eight inches and Bella Webb won the triple jump with 32 feet, 5.5inches to round out the individuals. The Lady Trojans’ distance medley relay team also took home first. Lexi Massengill was second in both the 100 and 200-meter dashes, Kennedie Couch was second in the 3,000 and Hurst in the 100-meter hurdles. Bella Webb finished second in the pole vault.
For the fourth-place Lady ‘Canes, they saw first-place finishes out of Marlee Morgan in the 100 (12.92) and Ashley Sadlon in the 100-meter hurdles (17.24) and the long jump (16 feet, 1.5 inches). East was second in the 4×100-meter relay and the 800-meter sprint relay along with Sam Altizer in the triple jump.
