Fuzion Brings a Sweet Spectacular to the Stage

Students at Fuzion School of the Arts packed the stage at Heritage Fellowship Hall last weekend with two colorful performances of their annual showcase, themed this year around Willy Wonka Jr..

The production featured a Friday evening performance and a Saturday matinee, drawing crowds into a candy-coated world filled with oversized lollipops and gummy worms. Bubbles drifted through the theater and a “chocolate river” flowed down the center aisle, creating a magical experience for the audience.

The showcase highlighted the work students have spent the past year developing through Fuzion classes in dance, acting, musical theater, bucket drumming, chorus, visual arts, and more. Bright costumes and music filled the theater as students of all ages took part in the production.

Concessions carried the theme as well, featuring Wonka Bars and candy of nearly every flavor imaginable.

Fuzion also maintains a partnership with Luminary Theatre, whose season continues with several upcoming productions. The youth production of The Sound of Music has already been cast and will be performed July 17-19. Auditions for Elf Jr. will be held in July ahead of December performances scheduled for Dec. 11-13.

Additional productions on the season roster include Anastasia, set for Oct. 2-4 and Oct. 9-11, along with How to Train Your Dragon Jr., which will take the stage March 5-7.

Interested performers do not need to be a Fuzion student to audition for upcoming Luminary performances. Information about auditions and upcoming productions can be found at luminarytheatre.org
