New business strikes gold in Morristown

A new business is hoping to strike gold in Morristown while helping residents do the same.

Gold Rush officially celebrated its newest location with a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 15 at 2127 W. Andrew Johnson Highway. Members of the Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce joined owners Eric Kennedy and Joey Branham, along with store manager Joey Gibson, to welcome the business to the community.

The Morristown location marks another step in the company’s steady expansion across East Tennessee.

Gold Rush currently operates stores in Greeneville, Johnson City, Kingsport and Elizabethton.

The company, which began 17 years ago, specializes in buying gold and other precious metals and says customer service and fair pricing have been the foundation of its growth.

“We pride ourselves on being able to give the best prices anywhere,” Gibson said during the event. “It is great to be able to be here in this community to help. I go to bed happy every night knowing that I have given people the best money for their metal and helped them.”

Company leaders said they hope to continue growing rapidly, with a goal of reaching 20 locations by the end of 2026.

Guests attending the ribbon cutting were treated to a warm reception featuring as community members andmembers of the Morristown Chamber of Commerce stopped in to tour the new business and meet the staff.

With its newest storefront now open in Morristown, Gold Rush officials say they are excited to become part of the local business community while continuing to expand throughout the region.
