West Elementary downed Union Heights 22-19 to move forward in the Virgil Leonard/Lion’s Club boys basketball tournament Tuesday.

West Elementary got nine points from Kamani Isom, six from Josiah Valentine, three from Paxton Fanney and two apiece from Ryan Caldwell and Hunter Baker. Union Heights got five points each from Colton Cobble and Thomas Richey. Brady Sawyer and Landon Hickey scored each had four and Riley Dobbs added one.

Fairview outlasted Witt 33-8, with Leo Hall leading the way with 15 points. Jaden Coleman had six, Jeffery Abner scored five, Martin Galvin had four, Ethan Gaines contributed three and Kobe Pearson finished with two. Witt got six points from Dawson Holt. Jaden Rojas and Anthony Smith had two apiece.

Whitesburg took down Lincoln Heights 31-8, getting double digits from Cooper Blevins, who finished with 10 points. Bryson Walker scored eight.

Jonah Dawson had seven, Brett Carden scored four and Brent Lunceford added two. Lincoln got four points apiece from Mason Mills and Kayden Seal.
