NEW TAZEWELL — Nine members of the Claiborne Bulldogs football team were named to the Mountain 6 All-Region 1 3A team which was voted on by the league’s head coaches.

Eli Stone, Haydn Hollin, Jimmy Del Ervin and James Satowski were named to the first team All-Region squad. Hollin was one of the most sure-handed wide receivers in the state as he had 50 receptions for 1,079 yards and 11 touchdowns. According to Max Preps, Hollin’s nearly 1,100 receiving yards was second in Tennessee and 110th nationally. He finished the season with 1,287 all-purpose yards, also played defense where he had 19 tackles, four interceptions, two pass breakups, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery he returned for a touchdown.

Hollin was on the receiving end of multiple passes from quarterback Stone who went 89-of-167 for 1,777 yards, 17 touchdowns and only three interceptions. Stone was also a threat with his feet as he ran 123 times for 476 yards and 10 scores to finish his senior season with 2,253 total yards. Ervin was a dual threat at receiver and rusher as he ran for 280 yards and three touchdowns and caught 12 passes for 138 yards and a score. Satowski made the most of his sophomore season as he recorded 17 tackles, and an interception.

Grant Johnson, Ethan Poore, Greg Goins, Justin Robinson and Tristan Cowan were second team all-region selections. Poore rounded out his senior season with 308 receiving yards and four touchdowns and Goins, also a senior, finished the year with 474 yards on the ground and four scores. He also had 91 kick return yards. Johnson had 117 all-purpose yards and saw time on defense where he recorded 20 tackles. Robinson and Cowan were two of the anchors on the offense and defensive lines.
