The Lakeway Christian girls basketball team continued their hot stretch, winning their fourth game in-a-row in the first round of the Winterfest Shootout.

Taking on Creek Wood, the Lady Lions took the game into overtime before prevailing with a 52-48 win. They will take on Heritage on Tuesday at 3 p.m.

The Lady Lions were led by Madi Hawk who continued her hot offensive streak with 16 points. Maggie Vick had 11 while Jordaynia Ivie had 10.

It was a defensive struggle in the first quarter as Lakeway trailed 8-7. Vick scored six in the quarter. The struggle continued in the second quarter but free throws by Lakeway kept them close as they trailed by four at the half.

Lakeway tried to make a push in the third quarter as six players scored but Creek Wood increased their lead to five after three. In the fourth, Hawk took over with eight points as Lakeway tied the game and sent it to overtime. In overtime, Lakeway got points from Hawk, Aubree Laney, Kayle Yates and Vick as they took control for the win.
