Grainger struggles offensively in loss to TKA

RUTLEDGE – Grainger couldn’t get anything going on offense against a bigger team in The Kings Academy and that resulted in a 51-33 setback to the Lions in the last game on Tuesday of the Pizza Plus Thanksgiving Classic.

“A lot of it had to do with their pressure,” head coach Adam Wolfenbarger said of his team’s inability to get the offense on track against the Lions, a team coached by Morristown native Sean Jones. “You look out there on the court and they have five physically mature bodies. We’ve talked about the youth of our team and it’s not just about the class our guys are in, it’s about playing time on this level and for the most part, we are putting one guy on the floor who has played a lot so we know there is going to be some growing pains this season. I think the biggest thing is we just got physically whipped tonight as TKA was a whole lot more physical than us. We had to initiate our offense out towards half-court and on the sidelines. Sean does such a great job with them.”
