Robert Morefield, born December 23, 1929, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 89 years old.

He served in the U.S. Army for 18 years, from 1948 to 1966. After his military service, he worked as a diesel mechanic in Hamblen, Knox and Cocke counties until he retired. After retirement, he delivered newspapers for the Citizen Tribune.

He is survived by his three sons: James Allen Morefield, William ‘Bo’ Morefield and his wife, Elisabeth and Robert ‘Tater’ Morefield and his wife, Karen; two stepsons, Terry Britt and Jerry Britt; nine grandchildren: Hannah Norris, Mark Morefield, Thomas Morefield, Alexis Morefield, Reid Morefield, Taylor Morefield, Ethan Morefield, Niki Elkins and Scott Britt; and seven great-grandchildren.

His remains are at Costner Maloy Funeral Home in Newport, Tennessee, where he will be cremated per his wishes. There will be no funeral services.
