Nancy Pearl McAmis Castillo was born December 5, 1961 in Knoxville to Willie Mae Holland McAmis and James Charles McAmis Sr. She departed this life to begin a new one Friday, September 25, 2020 at The Heritage Center Nursing Home in Morristown.
She enjoyed working at the flea market, trading and selling items. She also worked many years at the Mountain View Detention Center in Dandridge as the kitchen supervisor before she retired. She took a lot of pride in her job and always spoke of how fulfilling it was to make a positive impact on the youths that resided there. After retirement she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. When her health began to decline, she moved to The Heritage Nursing Home where she made many friends. She was especially happy to have her niece, Theresas McAmis, working at Heritage to care for and spend time with her.
The McAmis family would like to thank The Heritage Center Nursing Home for the great care and friendship they provided to Nancy before her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Charles Sr. and Willie Holland McAmis; grandparents, King and Pauline Edith McAmis; brothers, Anthony Bruce McAmis and James Charles McAmis Jr. (Butch); and grandson, Gabriel Smith.
