Mary Kate Rich Harvel, loving wife of C. H. Harvel, went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 31, 2020, with her family by her side.

She was born July 19, 1933, in Grainger County to Elzie and George Rich. She was born again and baptized into the fellowship of Calvary Baptist Church under the ministry of Pastor SD Rhodes. She faithfully served her Lord there and raised her children there for over 70 years.

Kate was preceded into Heaven by her infant son Mike, and her mother and father.

She is survived by her husband C. H., and children Jeff Harvel (Kim), Joey Harvel (Elaine), and Nancy Collins (Eddie). She was blessed to see her grandchildren Katy Harvel Avis (Graham), Collin Harvel, Chloe and Nolan Harvel, and Austin (Kimberly) and Garrett Collins give their heart to Jesus and to be baptized. She loved them and her first great-grandchild, Hadassah Catherine Avis. She awaits her brothers and sisters in Heaven, Bill and Eddie Rich, Louise Rich Wild, Irene Rich Gray, Shirley Rich Bryan, and Vicki Rich White.

Kate’s memorial will be on Monday night, August 3, 2020, at Calvary Baptist Church, with the receiving of friends from 5-7 pm, with memorial service following immediately at 7 pm. The graveside service will be on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at 11:00 am at Hamblen Memory Gardens. Pastor James Tullock will be officiating.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Austin and Garrett Collins, Collin and Nolan Harvel, and nephews, David, Tim, and Lance Wild.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Calvary Baptist Church, PO Box 3039, Morristown, TN 37815.
