Lu Jenkins Peck, 83, of Jefferson City, born September 4, 1937, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021 with her family by her side. She was a member of Grace Point Baptist Church, and formerly a long time member of Montrose Baptist Church in Rockville, Maryland.

She was born and raised in Laurinburg, North Carolina, lived most of her adult life in Rockville, and retired to Tennessee. She was a talented pianist, gifted elementary school teacher and Sunday school teacher, but her greatest joy was as mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lu loved studying God’s word and sharing the truth of the scriptures with others.

Preceded in death by her husband, James Peck; parents, Edgar and Lottie Jones Jenkins; and sisters, Margaret Mayo Critcher, Edna Wrenn Jenkins and Sarah Barfield.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Karin Peck of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter and son-in-law, Debby and Dale Vento of Talbott; grandchildren, Amanda (Coy) Parrish, Jared (Emma) Hull, and Andrew, Aaron and Allison Peck; and great-grandchildren, Adalyn and Heidi Parrish.

The family will receive friends noon – 2 p.m., Saturday, June 19 at Grace Point Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Rev. George Miller, Rev. Jimmy Peck, and Rev. Trevor Roberts officiating. Following the service, family and friends will proceed to Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery for the graveside service.
