Linda Calfee Allen Longmire, born September 5, 1947, of Birmingham, Alabama, and a former resident of Whitesburg, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at her home.

She attended church at Vestavia Hills Baptist Church in Alabama and remained a member of Living Promise Church in Morristown.

She graduated from Morristown High School in 1966 and attended East Tennessee State University. She retired from the Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs.

She generously gave her time and treasured caring for those she loved. She enjoyed walking outside and appreciating the beauty of nature.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Gail and Helen Greene Calfee; husbands, Edward Scott Allen and Martin Shelling Longmire; and sisters, Agnes Yount and Patricia Lindsey.

She is survived by her son, Tony (Teresa) Allen of Birmingham, Alabama; sisters, Velda Shultz and Brenda (Jay) Campbell; brother, Eddie (Resa) Yount; along with several nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, friends and family may pay their respects 1 – 4 p.m., Saturday, April 10 at Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet 2 p.m., Sunday, April 11 for graveside services at Hamblen Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Pastor Matt Westra officiating.

As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a church or charity of your choosing.
