Juanita Moose Hickey-Purkey, 89, formerly of Morristown, passed away Saturday May 8, 2021. She was Wolf Clan of the Shawnee/Cherokee and a proud enrolled tribal citizen.

She was married to William Carroll Purkey (Turkey) of Morristown Shawnee/Cherokee of the Turkey Clan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore Hickey (Shawnee Panther Clan) and Rebecca Ivy-Hickey (Wolf Clan); and sisters, Annabelle Hickey and Jereline Hickey-Dickerson Parker (both of the Wolf Clan).

Survivors include daughter, Shelia Carol Little Turkey Purkey (Wolf Clan); grandsons, Sunny Tlanuwa and Rain Moore (both of the Wolf Clan); and special nephew, Jerry Lone Wolf (Debbie) Dickerson (Wolf Clan).

The family expresses their thanks to Dr. John Short, Amedisys Home Health and Heritage Center.

At Juanita’s request, no services will be held, and donations may be made to the Humane Society in her memory.
