Joseph King Widdifield, 87, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Serenity House. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. He led a very full and active life and was an avid bridge player.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Bernadine Widdifield; sons, Michael Tyler and Jay Widdifield; daughters, Elin, Joan and Mary Widdifield; grandchildren, Nicholas Haag (whom they raised as their son), Emily and Cash Trent, Natile Johnson, Sam and Mark Abercrombie, Olivia and Henry McCabe, and Grace and Lauren Widdifield; sister, Mildred Bryson; step-daughters, Stephanie Dockery and Amy Trent; special friend and sister-in-law, Rita Kitts.

The family would like to say thank you to Serenity House.

The family will receive friends 5 – 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 21 in the chapel of Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow with Evelyn Dockery officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Bernadine Widdifield for Michael Widdifield’s health and educational fund.
