Jerry Allen Seal, 74, of Sneedville, passed away suddenly Sunday, October 17, 2021 at his home.

He accepted Christ into his heart at an early age and his faith remained strong despite his declining health over the past several years. He was an employee of Universal Bedroom Furniture for more than 29 years. His family was the light of his world, especially his grandchildren, David and Lendsey. He never met a stranger and loved to talk to everyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Nellie Arnold Seal; brothers, Bruce, Don and Ronald Seal; niece and nephew, Linda and Bruce Seal; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joe and Ina Testerman Trent; brothers-in-law, Paul, James “Jep” and Jack Trent; and sister-in-law, Helen White.

Left to grieve his passing and cherish his memory are his wife of nearly 50 years, Judy Trent Seal; his daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Doyle Burchett; his grandchildren, David Burchett and Lendsey (Aaron) Russell; his brother, Arthur Seal; sisters-in-law, Nancy Seal, Lola Gilreath, Betty Coffey and Irene Trent; brothers-in-law, Wayne Coffey and Bob White; several special nieces and nephews whom he treated as his own children; and a host of neighbors and friends.

The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m., Friday, October 22 at McNeil Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Alonzo Collins, Rev. Justin Trent and Rev. Robert Lupo officiating. Special music will be provided by O’Neil Greene and Brotey Johnson.
