James R. “Jim” Hill, 80, of Bean Station, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020 at his home. He was of the Baptist faith. Jim was born in Blackwater, Virginia, and was known for his farming and banjo skills. He retired from C.R. Daniels in Rutledge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Ella Hill; brothers, Lloyd, Bill, Joe, Champ and Jay; and sisters, Ethel, Clara, and Ruby.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Hill; children, Mark Hill and Sherry Hill; grandchild, Tia (Buck) Yates; great-grandchildren, Kylie, Paisley and Huntleigh; sister, Gladys (Norman) Falin; and with many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 5 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 14 at Alder Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Harmon Willis officiating. Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 15 at Hamblen Memory Gardens.
