James A. Collins, 65, of Morristown, formerly of Sneedville, departed this life September 8, 2019 at home surrounded by family and friends. He was a member of the Holiness Tabernacle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Evelyn “Mollie” Collins; sisters, Rhonda Owens and Sylvia Bolling; grandparents, Hattie and Ellis Collins and Emma and Jess Ferguson.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Betty Collins; brothers, Jimmy Collins of Morristown and Kenneth Collins of Indiana; special children, Amanda Horton, Lakota Collins and Amire Davis; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Amedysis Hospice, the nursing staff, and to Georgia Seal for all of their help and support with James during his sickness.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 9 p.m., Tuesday, September 10 at McNeil Funeral Home in Sneedville. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 11 at the funeral home with the Revs. Randy Smith and Alonzo Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Ferguson Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Elmer Collins, Lonnie “Bo” Collins, Brian Kephart, Ricky Harris Jr., and Jonathan Stout.
