Helen MacLeay, 85, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, September 19, 2021 at Life Care Center in Morristown. She is well now and in Jesus’ arms.

She was a loving wife and caring mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother, and loved people. She was born in Brownsville, Vermont, was a registered nurse, and traveled with her husband and children as James served in the military. She worked in hospitals in Texas, Vermont, Massachusetts, Washington, Hawaii, Nevada, Montana, North Dakota, Guam, and Georgia. They then retired to Morristown, where she worked as an RN in both hospitals and as a nurse at Morristown East before retiring. She was an active member of Panther Springs United Methodist Church.

Preceded in death by parents, Roger and Ethelynd Dunn; sisters, Lucille Dunn and Orytha Kenyon; brother, Carlos Dunn; and several nieces and nephews.

Survived by her husband of 65 years, James MacLeay; daughter, Laura (John) Beeler of Gallatin; son, Kevin (Karen) MacLeay of Powell; grandsons, Drew Beeler and Scott Beeler; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 5 – 6 p.m., Tuesday, September 21 at Alder Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 6 p.m. Family and friends will meet 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 22 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for graveside services.
