Hal Lynn Hunt

Hal Lynn Hunt, 69, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, August 22, 2019 following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born to the late Vernon and Laura (Bishop) Hunt on March 22, 1950. He was a dedicated employee of AGC from where he retired. Hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends were his favorite past times. Above all, he loved the Lord. Through his example, we learn to truly appreciate God’s creation and to cherish life. He was a member of Slate Hill Primitive Baptist Church. Hal was a loving husband, dad, papaw, brother, uncle, and a true friend to all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard Hunt, Wayne Hunt, and Hubert Hunt; sister, Helen Hunt Bachman; brother-in-law, Lee Crawford; and sister-in-law, Janice Hunt.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Hunt; daughter, Angila (Jonas) Condrey of Marion, North Carolina; sons, Waylon (Angie) Hunt and Casey (Ashley) Hunt; step-sons, Derreck (Chelsey) Owens and Noah Owens; step-daughter, Bridgette Owens; brothers, Harold (Nancy) Hunt, Herman (Liz) Hunt, Ray Hunt, Steve (Delores) Hunt, Stan (Teresa) Hunt and Mark Hunt; sisters, Wanda Crawford, Elizabeth (Curtis) McNew and Gail (Charles) Dougherty; grandchildren, Emma Shelton, Adam Condrey, Anna Condrey, Briley Hunt, Addelyn Hunt, LaKynn Hunt, Joshua Keegan Owens, Jackson Owens, Kyndle Owens, Jolynn Owens, Kayden, Kamryn, and Adrian; great-grandchildren, Leona Condrey and Jamie Shelton, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to UT Hospice Services, especially Sara, with whom he fell in love with the first time they met.

The family will receive friends 5 – 7 p.m., Sunday, August 25 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with the Revs. Gary Gibson and Robby Drinnon officiating. The graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, August 26 in Quarryville Cemetery.
