Charlie Derrick

Charlie Derrick, 86, of Dandridge, Tennessee passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019. He was a faithful member Of Greenhill Baptist Church in Dandridge for over 50 years. He retired from the Jefferson County Highway Department after 25 years service.

He was known for his love of Jesus, music, and tractors. He could often be heard playing his guitar or whistling. Many in the community know him for his help with their grass and gardens.

He was preceded in death by parents, Catherine Priscilla ‘Sillar’ (Williams) and Ralph Randolph Derrick; sister, Mattie Lynn (Derrick) Fletcher; half- brothers, Rufus and Glenn Derrick; first wife of 33 years, Ruby ( Ingle) Derrick, second wife of 26 years, Faye( Kelly) Derrick, and grandson, Preston Ford.

He is survived by daughter, Barbara (Derrick) Ford; granddaughter, Lindsey Ford; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lee (Derrick) and Joseph Vaidik; and niece, Susan (Vaidik) Williams; brother-in-law, Floyd Fletcher, and several nieces and nephews.

A very special thank-you for all prayers, encouragement and support. Also, a very special thank-you to all healthcare providers.

Receiving of friends will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 13 at Greenhill Baptist Church in Dandridge. A Celebration of Life Service will be follow at 4 p.m. at Greenhill Baptist Church, with Chaplain Kelly Reed officiating.

Interment will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 14 at Boyd’s Creek Cemetery in Sevierville, Tennessee.

Pallbearers are Ronnie Bayless, Wendell Cox, Doyle Derrick, Terry Hatfield, Mike Howerton, Tom King, Jim McDonald, Ennis Mills and Frank Roberts.
