Charles Edward “Eddie” Smith, II

Charles Edward “Eddie” Smith, II, 64, of Morristown went peacefully to be with the Lord at UT Medical Center Sunday, November 10, 2019. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Charles Edward and Barbara Smith; brother, Bill Smith.

Eddie was the most kind, joyful, generous and loving man. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with everything in him. The grand and great-grandchildren meant the world to him and when he was with them, he was laughing and playing like a kid again. He didn’t have riches or worldly possessions, but he had the Lord and his family. He often sang a song titled, “I’m One Blessed Man.” He was a blessed man, and we were blessed to have him in our lives.

He had been battling a variety of illnesses for a long time, and it grieved him that he hadn’t been able to attend, for a while, the church he loved so much. He was also a very talented musician and vocalist, his passion being gospel music. He loved singing, playing his guitar and many other instruments.

He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Brenda Smith; his children, Holly Smith (Brad Silvers), Charles ‘Chuck’ Edward Smith, III (Shannon), Stephanie Lewis (Zack Martin), Mary Ann Gray, and Crystal Greene (Timmy); grandchildren: Allison Greene (Josh Anderson), Alex Greene, Ayden Greene, Sean Smith, Kendon Tester, Josh and Destiny Gray, Jake Silvers, Olivia Martin, and grandbaby, Martin, on the way; great-grandsons, Daniel and Carson Tester and baby, Joshua Lee Anderson, on the way; sister, Elaine French; along with several nieces and nephews.

We will be honoring him and his life with a memorial service at Mountain View Baptist Church on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 4 p.m.

Arrangements by Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home.
