Betty McAmis King, 91, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 23, 2019. Betty was born and raised in Greeneville and moved to Morristown in 1951 after marriage. Betty worked for many years and retired from Enka/BASF to attend her grandchildren’s sports activities and cultivate her golf game. After retirement, she became so busy that she no longer had time to perform her old hobbies of gardening and making grape jelly. Later in life, Betty was cared for at her home by her three daughters and several very special friends.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, James Wilson McAmis and Frances Eckelkamp McAmis; husband, Richard S. King; sisters, Agnes McAmis and Dot Linebarger; brothers, Bob, Jim, Don, Clyde and Roland McAmis; and son-in-law, Dana Wampler.

Left to cherish her memories are daughters, Becky Wampler, Gail King and Lorraine King; sister, Mary Smith; grandsons, Lance (Suzanne) and Brock (Jamie) Wampler; great-granddaughter, Ella Kate Wampler; and special friends and caregivers, Sidra Adams and Missy Gates.

The family is planning a private ceremony to celebrate her life.
