Betty Ann Long, 70, of Morristown, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 from Lewy Body Dementia at her residence. She was born on September. 21, 1948 to the late Grover and Dexter Hayes.
She retired from the City of Morristown Tax Collector office, and attended Faith Home Mission Church. She was a great mother, grandmother and was a friend to everyone with a smile and hug.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Willard, Christine, Sarah, Luvine and Jessie; several step-brothers and sisters; and her husband, Charles Long.
Betty leaves her daughter, Becky Long (Chris); sons, Mike (Terry) Long and Dennis (Robin) Long; grandchildren, Megan (Chase) Phillips, Madison (Paton) Long, Taylor Long, Corey (Ashley) Long, Katelyn Long and Corbin Long; great-grandchildren, Sydney and Kenzlee; brother, Clarence (Phyllis) Hayes; sister, Peggy (Paul) Devotie; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Home Health and Hospice for their great care and her special nurse, Ashlee.
Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 7 at Mayes Mortuary. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with the Revs. Bobby Fultz, Kenny Davis and Garland Sergent officiating. Graveside services will be held at noon, Wednesday, May 8, at Heath’s Chapel Cemetery, Bean Station.
