Bernard Wade Eldridge

Bernard Wade Eldridge, age 78, of Talbott, entered Paradise on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.

He was born in Blackwater, Virginia where he was saved at an early age at Flower Gap Church and was a faithful member and deacon of Clintview Missionary Baptist Church in Morristown. He worked at Jeffery Chain for 17 years and was also self-employed as a contractor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Edith Eldridge; and brother, Arnold Eldridge.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Retha Eldridge; children, Jeffrey (Annette) Eldridge of Jefferson City, Anthony (Becky) Eldridge of Rogersville, and Angela Eldridge of Talbott; grandchildren, Jessica (Benjamin) Willings, Rachel Eldridge, Matthew Eldridge, and Angie (Jordan) Henry; great-grandchildren: Hadley Willings and Kaylee, Adison, Jason, and Paisley Henry; special niece, Melissa Renee Greene and her son, Joshua; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 12 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m., with Rev. Ronald Bunch, Rev. Steve Ingram, and Rev. Horace Greene officiating.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, December 13 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jordan Henry, Jacob Henry, Frank Long, Nelson Harbin, Josh Greene, and Matthew Eldridge.
