At 12:43 a.m., Monday, Deputy Casey Carter, of the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office, observed a Chevrolet Cobalt traveling on West Stone Drive in Kingsport with only one taillight operating. Carter conducted a traffic stop and charged the people.

During the traffic stop, it was determined that Greer was driving on a suspended license and Claude Mosley had given Carter a false name. Carter obtained permission to search the vehicle.

During the search of the vehicle, Deputy Carter and other officers discovered approximately 135 grams of marijuana, approximately 9 grams of methamphetamine, scales, Ziploc bags, various items of drug paraphernalia and a loaded .40 caliber pistol.

Upon the officers locating the contraband, Mosley attempted to flee the traffic stop on foot, but was taken into custody without incident. A check of Mosley’s criminal history showed him to have a previous felony conviction for reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon. All three persons were arrested and transported to the Hawkins County Jail for booking. Falin was wanted in Sullivan County and in Virginia.

All were awaiting an appearance bond to be set.
