A mobile home on Roe Way in the Cosby community was destroyed by fire on Sunday.

Personnel with the Cocke County Fire Department say they got the call to the single-wide mobile home just before noon.

Firefighters say the 60-foot home was owned by Buddy Ball but the occupants, who escaped the blaze, are unidentified.

Upon arrival, firefighters with the Cosby Volunteer Fire Department found smoke and flames coming from the windows and doors. Firefighters from volunteer units in Grassy Fork and Pittman Center also responded, and the Newport Rescue Squad brought in a rehab unit. The cause of the blaze, which left damage of $45,000, has not been determined.
