Update II: Morristown and E911 officials have confirmed that a services outage caused by a cut fiber line has been resolved and service has been restored.

UPDATE: AT&T has released a statement in which it blames a cut fiber line in Jasper, Tennessee as the cause of E911 call breakdowns. The company said crews have been dispatched to the area to make necessary repairs.

Officials with E911 services in Hamblen County ask residents to call 423-585-2701 for any emergency calls to law enforcement or emergency medical requests.

Calls into the emergency contact service have been blocked intermittently overnight but have been almost completely down since approximately 6 a.m. this morning. Surrounding counties have also been affected by the shutdown.
