This year, returning Campaign Chairman David Slack is leading the “Stronger Together” fundraising effort to support the programs of the United Way agencies in Hamblen County.

It is the responsibility of the cabinet, a volunteer group of men and women who serve as campaign division chairs, to call on corporate and business leaders to educate companies on the mission of the United Way of Hamblen County. Cabinet members will also offer leadership and support to the many campaign volunteers serving on their respective committees. Those committee members will in turn challenge local businesses, corporations, financial and medical institutions, government organizations, manufacturers and service industries to open their wallets; the leaders of which will, in turn, encourage their employees to do the same.

The needs in Hamblen County are greater today, and United Way giving is vital to the health of the community. More than 200 health and human services programs are administered through the individual agencies of the United Way of Hamblen County. Participants range from newborns to seniors.
