Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson announced two people were killed in a shooting in Bulls Gap Friday night. 

Lawson said that at approximately 6:54 p.m. the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office received a call of shots fired at Walter Drive residence in Bulls Gap.

Officers arrived on scene and found a 34-year-old woman with a gun shot wound.  The woman was transported to Hawkins County Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A male subject was also found on scene with a gun shot wound and was pronounced dead on the scene. 

Lawson said the case is being investigated as a murder/suicide with the male being the shooter. 

Lawson said no other information will be released with the investigation ongoing. 

The family members are being notified.
