Two charged with sexual exploitation

Tips forwarded to the Morristown Police Department from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led to the arrest of two local men for allegedly sexually exploiting underage girls, authorities say.

Michael E. Gulley, 45, Algonquin Avenue, was indicted on Monday by a Hamblen County grand jury for aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. Timothy Andrew Johnson, 21, Mohawk Street, was indicted for sexual exploitation of a minor. Both were arrested on Thursday.

The tips involving Gulley and Johnson’s alleged possession of sexually explicit material involving underage girls came to the MPD at different times. They were indicted in separate cases, and it appears the cases could be unrelated.

MPD Detective Josh Akard, the MPD Internet Crimes Against Children investigator, presented the evidence to the grand jury on Monday.
