Reservations are being taken now for the following events:

Aug. 1-29, 10:30 a.m., Each Thursday in Pavilion, Eat Well-Feel Well class taught by Carla Testerman with UT Extension. A new class to learn new ways to fix food in a healthy, tasty way. Reservations needed by July 25..

Aug. 30, Noon, End of Summer Lunch and Birthday Dinner with vocalist Dan Gibson.Cold cuts and salads. Bring favorite fixings. Call for reservations by Aug. 26.

Sept. 4, 9 a.m., UT Mobile Mammogram Unit at Center. Call UT at 865-305-9753 for appointment.

Sept. 10, 11 a.m., Lunch & Learn – Sponsored by American Financial Alliance. The speaker will be Barbara Morris about Medicare options.

Sept. 17, 11:30 a.m., Lunch Bunch at Aubrey’s Restaurant. Call the center for reservations; riders on the center van must be at center in time for the 11:15 a.m. departure.

Sept. 27, 10 a.m., Trike Rides, and noon, Tailgate Party. The Lakeway Chapter F Goldwing Association will offer Trike Rides again this year before the annual Tailgate Party in the pavilion. This year, Interim Home Health will provide bingo. Menu will be grilled hot dogs and hamburgers. Reservations are required by Sept. 20.

Pecans are still available for sale; one pound bag of pecans are $10.

The Senior Center is taking reservations to rent the Pavilion and Main Room. Available for family or group events spring, summer and fall. Call Debbie at 423-581-5166 for reservations.

Tai chi is offered every Tuesday and Thursday by instructor Jim Perdue. Cost is $2 per person. Tuesdays are for beginners and Thursdays are more advanced.

On Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and Fridays at 10 a.m., S.A.I.L. (Stay Active and Independent for Life) exercise classes will be taught. This is a proven falls prevention program that improves balance, strength and fitness through exercise from a sitting or standing position. Everyone exercises at their own pace, working toward a goal of mobility. Certified instructor is Jim Perdue. Cost is $2 per person. Call 423-581-5166 for more information.
